DHAKA, Sept 22, 2025 (BSS) - Religious Affairs Adviser Dr. AFM Khalid Hossain today said that practicing the Seerat of the Prophet (PBUH) is indispensible for mankind as far as current reality of the world is concerned.
He said that in the current world, human life has become easier due to the advancement of science, development of technology and globalization. At the same time, moral degradation, family crisis, social inequality, terrorism and religious conflicts have also intensified.
Khalid said this while speaking as the chief guest at the award distribution ceremony of the Seerat Olympiad-2025 organized by the Hasanah Foundation at the IDEB Auditorium in the capital’s Kakrail area this afternoon, said a press release.
The Religious Affairs Adviser said that religious conflict is one of the biggest problems in the world today. The Prophet (PBUH) formulated the Medina Charter which recognized religious freedom for everyone.
“The teachings of the Prophet (PBUH) are the true foundation of inter-religious coexistence and tolerance,” he said.
The program was presided over by Dr. Mizanur Rahman Azhari, Chairman of Hassanah Foundation.
Shaikh Mokhter Ahmad, Shaikh Rezaul Karim Abar, Shaikh Sifat Hassan, Shaikh Muhaddis Mahmudul Hassan, Shaikh Dr. Abul Kalam Azad Bashar, Shaikh Fakhruddin Ahmad, Shaikh Nasiruddin Helali, Shaikh Mufti Saiful Islam, Shaikh Abdul Hai Saifullah spoke, among others, at the event.
Later, the Adviser presented prizes and cash to the winners of the Seerat Olympiad.
About 20,000 competitors took part in this Seerat Olympiad. Final winners were selected after three groups of selection rounds, semi-finals, and finals.
As a prize, the first place winner in each group was given an Umrah package, the first runner-up a laptop, the second runner-up a tab, and the 4th and 5th place winners were given Taka 20,000 and Taka 10,000 respectively.
In addition, the 6th to 10th place winners were awarded cash money of Taka 5,000.
The Hassanah Foundation is working to build a morally and ethically-based society through education, research, training, skills development, and educating the generation on the ideals of the Prophet.
