DHAKA, Sept 23, 2025 (BSS) – Australia has reiterated its commitment to supporting inclusive development in Cox’s Bazar by strengthening the capacity of the NGO Affairs Bureau to ensure greater transparency and accountability in humanitarian and development activities.

The commitment was made recently when Deputy High Commissioner of Australia to Bangladesh attended a high-level policy dialogue in Clinton Pobke Cox’s Bazar under the Institutional Strengthening for Promoting Accountability and Transparency (ISPAT) initiative.

Senior government officials, the UNDP Resident Representative, and leaders from various NGOs also took part in the discussion, said a press release issued by the Australian high commission said here today.

The dialogue, hosted by the NGO Affairs Bureau in partnership with UNDP, underscored the importance of building stronger institutions to ensure transparent, accountable, and inclusive governance.

Speakers highlighted that in a district like Cox’s Bazar, home to both Rohingyas and host communities, coordinated efforts among government, development partners, and civil society are essential for building resilient systems that serve all people equitably.

The ISPAT initiative aims to bolster institutional reforms that can further enhance the Bureau’s role in promoting good governance and effective delivery of humanitarian assistance.
