Light to moderate rain, thunder showers likely in parts of country

DHAKA, Sept 23, 2025 (BSS) - The Bangladesh Meteorological Department (BMD) forecast light to moderate rain or thunder showers accompanied by temporary gusty wind is likely to occur at many places across the country over the next 24 hours, beginning at 9:00 am today.

"Light to moderate rain or thunder showers accompanied by temporary gusty wind is likely to occur at a few places over Khulna, Barishal, Chattogram and Sylhet divisions," according to a bulletin issued by the Bangladesh Meteorological Department (BMD) this morning.

"One or two places over Rangpur, Rajshahi, Dhaka and Mymensingh divisions may witness the similar weather," it said with the anticipation of "moderate heavy falls at places over the country."
 
Day and night temperature may rise slightly over the country, the met office predicted.

Monsoon is fairly active over Bangladesh and moderate to strong over North Bay, it said, further adding that another low pressure area may form over East-central Bay and adjoining North Bay during next 48 hours.
  
On Monday, the highest temperature recorded was 36.0 degrees Celsius in Sayedpur and Tetulia, while the lowest temperature was 24.1 degrees Celsius in Narayanganj.

In Dhaka, the sun will set at 5:54 pm today and will rise at 5:48 am tomorrow.
