Public hearing on re-fixing natural gas price for fertilizer on Oct 6

DHAKA, Sept 23, 2025 (BSS) - A public hearing with interested parties on the proposal of re-fixing the natural gas price in the fertilizer category will be held on October 6, according to officials. 

The public hearing will start at 10 am, which will continue till 5 pm on October 6 at Bangladesh Institute of Administration and Management (BIAM) in city’s New Eskaton, officials said.

The hearing will be held on the proposal of Bangladesh Oil, Gas and Mineral Resources Corporation (Petrobangla), Titas Gas Transmission and Distribution, Bakhrabad Gas Distribution Company Limited, Jalalabad Gas Transmission and Distribution System Limited and Karnaphuli Gas Distribution Company Limited to re-fix the price of natural gas in the fertilizer category.

According a notice issued by Bangladesh Energy Regulatory Commission (BERC), interested individuals, institutions or organizations can send their written opinions to the commission before September 30. 

It said they are requested to register their names with the commission by September 28 to participate in the public hearing.

The notice said that the listed individuals, institutions or organizations can also submit analytical information and related documents regarding the proposals of the licensees for gas supply and distribution in the hearing.

Participants can collect copies of the proposals of re-pricing natural gas in the fertilizer category from the commission during office hours, it said. 

Besides, participants can also download all relevant documents from the commission's website. The interested parties are also requested to participate in the public hearing or send appropriate representatives.
