DHAKA, Sept 23, 2025 (BSS) - Religious Affairs Adviser Dr. A F M Khalid Hossain has stressed studying the life and teachings of the Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) is essential to address the moral and social challenges facing humanity today.
Despite scientific and technological advancements, the modern world is grappling with growing moral decline, family breakdown, social inequality, terrorism, and religious conflict, Dr. Khalid Hossain said as the chief guest at the prize-giving ceremony of the Sirat Olympiad 2025, held at the IDEB auditorium in Kakrail.
He said, "While human life has become more convenient due to globalization and technological progress, it is also witnessing a sharp rise in moral degradation and social unrest. In this context, the teachings of the Prophet (PBUH) have become more relevant than ever."
Highlighting the Prophet's (PBUH) efforts to promote interfaith harmony, he pointed to the Charter of Medina, which ensured religious freedom for Muslims, Jews, and Christians alike.
"His vision remains the true foundation for peaceful coexistence and mutual respect among all faiths," the adviser added.
The event was organized by the Hasanah Foundation, with its chairman Dr. Mizanur Rahman Azhari presiding over the ceremony.
Prominent scholars and speakers at the event included Sheikh Mukhtar Ahmad, Sheikh Rezaul Karim Abrar, Sheikh Sifat Hasan, Sheikh Muhaddis Mahmudul Hasan, Sheikh Dr. Abul Kalam Azad Bashar, Sheikh Fakhruddin Ahmad, Sheikh Nasiruddin Helali, Sheikh Mufti Saiful Islam, and Sheikh Abdul Hai Saifullah.
At the conclusion of the event, the adviser distributed prizes and cash awards to the winners of the Sirat Olympiad 2025. Nearly 20,000 participants took part in this year's competition, with 30 finalists receiving awards.
Top prize winners in each group were awarded an Umrah package. First runners-up received laptops, second runners-up were given tablets, while the 4th and 5th place winners received Tk. 20,000 and Tk. 10,000 respectively. Contestants who ranked 6th to 10th were awarded Tk. 5,000 each.
