DHAKA, Sept 24, 2025 (BSS) – The Directorate of Primary Education has announced the suspension of offline transfer and attachment activities for primary teachers.

The directive was issued in a letter signed by Mahfuza Khatun, Assistant Director (Policy and Operations) of the Directorate, on Tuesday.

The letter noted that many individuals, including respected officials at different levels, often make transfer recommendations for teachers either over the phone or in person.

It also pointed out that teachers frequently visit the Directorate of Primary Education in Dhaka to submit transfer requests directly to the Director General, often without prior approval from the relevant authorities. This practice disrupts official activities and negatively affects regular school teaching, ultimately undermining the chain of command.

The letter further mentioned that the Ministry of Primary and Mass Education had already suspended the offline transfer and attachment process until further notice through an order issued on July 20, 2025.

In view of this, the Directorate instructed authorities to ensure that teachers do not apply directly for transfers and urged them to exercise caution when approving casual leave for teachers.

A copy of the letter has been circulated to all District Primary Education Officers, Divisional Deputy Directors of Primary Education, and Upazila/Thana Primary Education Officers across the country.
