Durga Puja to be celebrated with religious fervor, without any fear: Home Advisor

CHATTOGRAM, Sept 24, 2025 (BSS) - Home Adviser Lt Gen (retd) Md. Jahangir Alam Chowdhury reassured that the Durga Puja will be celebrated with religious fervor without any fear this year. 
 
The law and order situation in Chattogram is very good on the eve of the Puja, and there is no fear as the administration has made adequate preparations for worshippers to perform the Puja smoothly. 
 
He urged all not to pay heed to rumors and urged journalists to report accurate news to prevent the spread of misinformation.
 
While inspecting the preparations for the Puja at J M Sen Hall in the city, Home Affairs Adviser Jahangir Alam warned against spreading false news by neighboring countries during Puja and other times. 
 
He stated that if true news is published, the rumor makers will be identified and held accountable.
 
Alam reassured the public that the situation on the ground, as reported by the CMP Commissioner and Puja Parishad, is very good and there are no security threats.
 
He mentioned that extensive preparations have been made, including the deployment of 22 volunteers who will work round the clock, CCTV surveillance, Ansar and regular security forces, as well as personnel from the Ministry of Children and Women Affairs.
  
The adviser urged all to maintain the sanctity of the event and avoid disrespectful behavior.
 
Accompanied by officials including Divisional Commissioner Dr. Md. Ziauddin, CMP Commissioner Hasib Aziz, and representatives from various puja udjapon committees including Chattogram city unit of Bangladesh Puja Udjapan Parishad were accompnied on the occasion.
