Ensure maximum security at Puja Mandaps, idol immersion places: River Police chief

DHAKA, Sept 25, 2025 (BSS) – Additional Inspector General of River Police Kusum Dewan has instructed his colleagues to ensure maximum security at puja mandaps and idol immersion places during the Durga Puja.

“Ensure maximum security at the puja mandaps and idol immersion places under the jurisdiction of the River Police during the Durga Puja,” he said.

He made the remarks while presiding over a monthly crime review and welfare meeting at the conference room of River Police Headquarters, Dhaka, said a press release of the force.  

The River Police chief instructed the officers to be vigilant so that no miscreants can escape by causing unpleasant incidents on the river.

He urged them to further strengthen the process of recovering various types of illegal nets by conducting operations.

Dewan thanked everyone for the efforts of the River Police to keep the river route uninterrupted for free movement of river transports.   

At the beginning of the meeting, the progress of important cases under investigation by the River Police was reviewed.

At this time, all levels of police members including DIG, Additional DIGs, Police Superintendents and Police Superintendents of 11 regions of the River Police were directly and virtually connected to the meeting.
