DHAKA, Sept 26, 2025 (BSS) - A total of 219 new dengue patients were admitted to different hospitals across the country in the last 24 hours.

"During the period, 43 were hospitalised in Barishal while 74 in Chattogram, 40 in Dhaka North City Corporation (DNCC), 39 in Dhaka South City Corporation (DSCC) and 23 were admitted to different hospitals in Mymensingh division," said a press release issued by the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS).

A total of 255 patients were discharged from different hospitals during the same period. 

With the latest figures, the total number of dengue cases reported this year has reached 44,692. So far, 188 people have died from the mosquito-borne disease in 2025.

Last year, the total number of cases rose to 1,01,214, while 575 deaths from the dengue disease were reported, the DGHS statement added.
