DHAKA, Sept 28, 2025 (BSS) – Bangladesh Energy Regulatory Commission is set to stage a stakeholders hearing on re-fixing gas prices for fertilizer production on October 6 in line with its earlier announcement.
BERC officials said the hearing would be held from 10 am to 5 pm on October 6 at Bangladesh Institute of Administration and Management (BIAM) at New Eskaton in the capital.
The energy regulatory authority requested the stakeholders to join the hearing on re-fixing the gas prices.
State-run Bangladesh Oil, Gas and Mineral Resources Corporation (Petrobangla), Titas Gas Transmission and Distribution, Bakhrabad Gas Distribution Company Limited, Jalalabad Gas Transmission and Distribution System Limited and Karnaphuli Gas Distribution Company Limited proposed the review on the gas price for fertilizer.
The BERC asked concerned individuals, institutions or organizations to send their written opinions on the issue to the commission before September 30.
BERC also requested them to get their names registered with the commission by September 28 to participate in the hearing.
The commission earlier said that the listed individuals, institutions or organizations could also submit their analysis and related documents regarding the proposals of the licensees for gas supply and distribution in the hearing.
Participants can collect copies of the proposals of re-pricing natural gas in the fertilizer category from the commission during office hours, it said.
They could as well download all relevant documents from the commission's website.
