Probe into allegations of AL’s crimes against humanity to begin soon: Chief Prosecutor

DHAKA, Oct 5, 2025 (BSS) – A formal probe into the allegations of crimes against humanity committed by Awami League as a party will begin soon, Chief Prosecutor Mohammad Tajul Islam said today.


Replying to a question while talking to journalists on the International Crimes Tribunal premises here, the Chief Prosecutor said a political party named NDM has already filed a complaint against Awami League for committing crimes against humanity as a party.


“We are initiating a probe based on that. So, it can be said that at this moment, we are going to start the preliminary probe to put Awami League as a criminal organisation on trial,” he said.


“If the probe starts in full swing, then we will be able to say how far the matter of putting the Awami League on trial is progressing. Yes, there is allegation. We are scrutinising it seriously. The formal probe will begin very soon,” Tajul said.
