Committee formed to implement typhoid vaccination program

DHAKA, Oct 8, 2025 (BSS) – Government has asked to form a coordination committee at local government level across the country to ensure proper implementation of the typhoid vaccination programme on October 12 across the country.

Mayor or administrator will lead the 10-member committee. Other members of the committee are Police Commissioner, Civil Surgeon, Deputy Director (DD) of Family Planning Directorate, DD of Social Services Office, DD of Islamic Foundation, District Education Officer, District Primary Education Officer and Senior Information Officer of the District. Chief Health Officer of respective upazila will be the member-secretary.

The Health Services Division of the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare has issued instructions in this regard, said an official handout.

The committee will take steps action for successful completion of the Typhoid Vaccination Campaign-2025 as well as creating awareness for typhoid vaccination.

Under the programme one dose of typhoid vaccine will be administered to all students from pre-primary to 9th grade and equivalent and all children aged 9 months to 15 years outside educational institutions.
