Bangladesh, Japan to strengthen cooperation in higher education

DHAKA, Oct 8, 2025 (BSS) – Bangladesh and Japan today agreed to enhance collaboration in higher education, focusing on student exchanges, research partnerships, and scholarship opportunities to deepen academic ties between the two friendly nations.

During a visit to Josai International University (JIU) Bangladesh Ambassador to Japan Md. Daud Ali met with JIU President Kurabayashi Masato and discussed ways to expand cooperation between the university and suitable educational institutions in Bangladesh, said a press release received here. 

Ambassador Ali highlighted education as a cornerstone of national development and proposed a range of collaborative initiatives, including student and faculty exchange programs, research cooperation, and scholarship schemes for Bangladeshi students.

The JIU leadership warmly appreciated the proposals and expressed keen interest in strengthening academic partnerships with Bangladesh.

Reaffirming the Embassy’s commitment, Ambassador Ali assured full support in facilitating new initiatives aimed at expanding opportunities for Bangladeshi students in Japan.

Both sides agreed to continue working closely to build a stronger bridge of friendship and mutual understanding through education and academic exchange.
