Fakhrul condemns killing of journo in Bagerhat

BAGERHAT, Oct 8, 2025 (BSS) – Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP) Secretary General Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir has strongly condemned the killing of journalist and Bagerhat municipal BNP member SM Hayat Uddin, who was murdered by miscreants near his residence in Harikhali area on October 3. 

In a condolence message, signed by the Joint Office Secretary of the Central Committee of the party, Md. Taiful Islam Tipu, on Wednesday night, Fakhrul described the incident as a brutal and inhuman act aimed at destabilizing the country. 

He said Hayat Uddin was targeted for speaking the truth and demanded the immediate arrest and exemplary punishment of the perpetrators.

He also expressed deep sympathy to the bereaved family and prayed for the eternal peace of the departed soul.
