ICT sends arrest warrants against 30, including Hasina, to heads of different forces

DHAKA, Oct 9, 2025 (BSS) – The International Crimes Tribunal (ICT) has sent the arrest warrants issued against 30 people, including ousted Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina, to the Inspector General of Police (IGP) and 12 other force offices.

The tribunal had issued the warrants yesterday in two cases filed over enforced disappearances and torture allegedly carried out at the Taskforce for Interrogation (TFI) Cell and the Joint Interrogation Cell (JIC) during the Awami League regime.

The prosecution brought five charges in the case against 13 people, including Sheikh Hasina and her former security and defence adviser Tarique Ahmed Siddique, over the crimes committed at the JIC.

The first tribunal, led by its Chairman Justice Md Golam Mortuza Mozumder, issued the warrants after taking the formal charges into cognisance.

The tribunal also set October 22 for producing the accused before the court.

Chief Prosecutor Muhammad Tajul Islam took part in the hearing before the court.
