Advisory Council thanks religious, home advisers over peaceful Puja celebration

DHAKA, Oct 9, 2025 (BSS) – The Advisory Council today appreciated Home Adviser Lt Gen (retd) Md Jahangir Alam Chowdhury and Religious Affairs Adviser Dr AFM Khalid Hossain over the peaceful celebration of Durga Puja amid festivity this year.

The council approved a special thanks giving motion for the two advisers at its weekly meeting at the Chief Adviser’s Office (CAO) here with Chief Adviser Professor Muhammad Yunus in the chair.

Chief Adviser’s Press Secretary Shafiqul Alam disclosed it at a briefing at the Foreign Service Academy in the city this evening.

He said the council also adopted an obituary reference on local government expert and head of the Local Government Reform Commission formed by the interim government Dr Tofail Ahmed, who breathed his last on Wednesday night.

Besides, the meeting expressed special thanks to Education Adviser CR Abrar and Cultural Affairs Adviser Mostofa Sarwar Farooki and Bangladesh Ambassador to France and Permanent Representative to UNESCO Khandaker M Talha over Bangladesh election as the President of the UNESCO General Conference for the first time.
