Tribunal sets Jan 11 for probe report in case against Ayon Osman and others

DHAKA, Oct 12, 2025 (BSS) – The International Crimes Tribunal (ICT)-1 today set January 11, 2026, for submitting the probe report in a case against Ayon Osman, son of former lawmaker Shamim Osman, and seven others, lodged over crimes against humanity committed in Narayanganj during the July–August Mass Uprising.

Justice Md Golam Mortuza Mozumder, chairman of the three-judge panel of ICT-1, passed the order granting an additional three months for filing the report. Prosecutor Abdus Sattar Palwan filed the plea before the tribunal.

According to the prosecution, former Narayanganj-4 lawmaker Shamim Osman and his cohorts committed crimes against humanity in Narayanganj during the July–August Mass Uprising. They carried out mass killings in an attempt to suppress the Mass Uprising, the prosecution said.
