Health officials report 3 deaths, 857 fresh cases of dengue inflection overnight

DHAKA, Oct 13, 2025 (BSS) - Health officials today said they recorded 857 fresh cases of dengue onslaughts killing at least three persons in the past 24 hours.

"During the period, (of the 857) 163 patients were hospitalized in Barishal division, 87 in Chattogram division, 136 in Dhaka division excluding the capital, 145 in Dhaka South City Corporation (DSCC) and 138 in Dhaka North City Corporation (DNCC) areas, 60 in Khulna division, 39 in Mymensingh division, 76 in Rajshahi division, seven in Rangpur division and six in Sylhet division, a Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS) statement said.

Since the start of the dengue onslaughts Bangladesh this year witnessed so far 233 deaths while the disease inflicted 55,416.

The dengue last year claimed 575 lives and inflicted 1,01,214 people in the country.
