Teamwork essential to strengthen grassroots communication: Mass Com. DG Jalil

DHAKA, Oct 14, 2025 (BSS) – Newly appointed Director General (DG) of the Department of Mass Communication Md Abdul Jalil today called for unity, sincerity, and professionalism among all officers and employees to strengthen the department’s role in delivering information services to the grassroots.

“The Department of Mass Communication is the only outreach body under the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting that works at the grassroots level. Our goal is to ensure technology-based information services for all, everywhere,” he said.

Abdul Jalil was addressing an exchange meeting with officers and employees of the department at the Information Bhaban in the capital.

Speaking to the officials and staff, Jalil called upon all officials and employees at every level to work sincerely to achieve this target.

Emphasizing the creative role of the department’s music wing ahead of the upcoming youth festival and national elections, the DG urged all to make the best use of their talents. 

He also stressed maintaining professionalism and showing respect and courtesy towards female colleagues.

Expressing a firm commitment to prevent corruption, Jalil sought the cooperation of all concerned in carrying out official activities effectively. 

He particularly emphasized greater sincerity and dedication among field-level officers and staff in performing their duties.

Directors of the department -- Anusua Barua (Technical and Training), Syed A Mumen (Administration and Finance), and Dalia Yasmin (Publicity and Coordination) –- along with other officers and employees, were present at the meeting.
