DHAKA, Oct 14, 2025 (BSS) – Chittagong Hill Tracts (CHT) Affairs Adviser Supradip Chakma has announced that e-learning school programmes will be launched in the CHT region by December this year.
He said this while speaking as the chief guest at a views-exchange meeting on the implementation of e-learning school projects held this afternoon at the conference room of the Parbatya Chattogram Complex on Bailey Road here.
He said in the first phase, a total of nine schools—three each in Khagrachhari, Rangamati, and Bandarban hill districts will be equipped with digital technology.
Supradip said students in the CHT will gain opportunities to join the global community by developing skills in Artificial Intelligence (AI), robotics, and other modern technologies through e-learning platforms.
“Under the guidance of Chief Adviser Professor Dr. Muhammad Yunus, we are moving forward with the goal of establishing 100 e-learning schools in the CHT” he said.
“Despite geographical diversity and socio-economic challenges, we aim to reduce educational disparities through technology. Solar panels will be installed in selected schools to ensure power supply, and internet connectivity will be provided via mobile networks and Wi-Fi,” he said,
Supradip mentioned that retired professionals and experienced teachers from urban areas will be able to volunteer for online teaching, and a policy is being formulated for that purpose.
