Four dengue patients die, 758 hospitalized in last 24 hrs

DHAKA, Sept 5, 2025 (BSS) - A total of four people died from dengue while 758 
others were admitted to different hospitals across the country during the 
last 24 hours.

Of the new cases, 133 were reported in Barishal division (excluding city 
corporation area) while 85 in Chattogram division (excluding city corporation 
area), 158 in Dhaka division, 102 in Dhaka North City Corporation (DNCC), 100 
in Dhaka South City Corporation (DSCC), 62 in Khulna, 50 in Mymensingh, 47 in 
Rajshahi, 19 in Rangpur and two patients were hospitalized in the different 
hospitals in Sylhet division, said a press release issued by the Directorate 
General of Health Services (DGHS).

The total number of dengue cases rose to 57,015 while 242 deaths from the 
mosquito-borne disease were reported this year. 

During the same period, 764 dengue patients were discharged from different 
hospitals across the country after receiving treatment.

Last year, the country reported 1,01,214 dengue cases and 575 deaths, the 
DGHS statement added.
