Cumilla board sees 48.86pc pass rate in HSC exams

CUMILLA, Oct 16, 2025 (BSS) – The Cumilla board has achieved a pass rate of 48.86 percent  in this year’s Higher Secondary Certificate (HSC) examinations.

Girl students outperformed their male counterparts in terms of both pass rate and obtaining GPA-5 in the HSC examination.   

On Thursday at 10 am, Comilla Education Board Chairman Professor Md. Shamsul Islam announced the results of HSC examinations at a press conference. 

A total of 99,576 students   - - 42,052 male and 57,524 female  - -  appeared in the HSC exams under the board while 48,657 students have been successful in the examinations, according to the HSC results published here today.

Among the girls, 30,701 passed, which is 53.37 percent of total examinees. On the other hand, 17,956 boys passed with a pass rate of 42.70 percent. 

This year, a total of 2,707 students of the board achieved GPA-5.   Among other GPA achievers,  1,749 are girls and 958 boys. 

Professor Md. Shamsul Islam said, "The consistent success of girls is a matter of pride for us. This result is the success of their hard work, perseverance and the joint efforts of family and institution."
