Sylhet board sees 51.86pc pass rate in HSC exams, lowest in 12 years

SYLHET, Oct 16, 2025 (BSS) – The Sylhet board has achieved a pass rate of 51.86 percent  in this year’s Higher Secondary Certificate (HSC) examinations, marking the lowest rate in 12 years.

Sylhet Education Board Chairman Professor Md. Anwar Hossain Chowdhury officially announced the results at the board's conference room today.

A total of 69,172 students   - - 27,764 male and 41,408 female  - -  appeared in the HSC exams under the board while 35,870 students have been successful in the examinations, according to the HSC results published here today.

This year, a total of 1,602 students of the board achieved GPA-5.   Among the GPA achievers, 921 are girls and 681 boys. 

Girl students outperformed their male counterparts in terms of both pass rate and obtaining GPA-5 in the HSC examination.
