Health officials report 1 death, 755 fresh cases of dengue inflection overnight

DHAKA, Oct 16, 2025 (BSS) - Health officials today said they recorded 755 fresh cases of dengue onslaughts killing at least one person in the past 24 hours.

"During the period, (of the 755) 131 patients were hospitalised in Barishal division, 98 in Chattogram division, 187 in Dhaka division excluding the capital, 68 in Dhaka South City Corporation (DSCC) and 181 in Dhaka North City Corporation (DNCC) areas, 58 in Khulna division, 24 in Mymensingh division, six in Rangpur division and two in Sylhet division, a Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS) statement said.

Since the start of the dengue onslaughts Bangladesh this year witnessed so far 243 deaths while the disease inflicted 57,770.

The dengue last year claimed 575 lives and inflicted 1,01,214 people in the country.
