DHAKA, Oct 16, 2025 (BSS) – Professor Khondoker Ehsanul Kabir, chairman of the Bangladesh Inter-Education Board Coordination Committee and the Dhaka Education Board, today said this year’s Higher Secondary Certificate (HSC) examination results is “a reflection of reality.”

“Students have distanced themselves from their study table, which is reflected in the results. I urge guardians to reflect on the issue," he said while exchanging views with journalists at the meeting room of the Dhaka Education Board in Baksibazar here.

He said that the question paper of English has become relatively difficult due to the elimination of multiple choice questions (MCQs) from it. “We have to discuss the results of this year’s HSC by evaluating board wise performance. Besides, the performance of each educational institution will be assessed.”

It is mentionable that the average pass rate in the current year in 11 education boards is 58.83 percent. In the previous year (2024), the pass rate was 77.78 percent. A total of 10,47,242 students participated in the HSC and equivalent examinations in the nine general education boards. Out of them 5,98,166 have been passed.

Dhaka Board has secured the top position among nine general education boards with 64.62 percent pass rate.
