DHAKA, Oct 16, 2025 (BSS) - The 5th Forum on Chinese Language Education in Bangladesh was held today at the Dhaka University here.
Dhaka University's Institute of Modern Languages (IML) organized the event under the theme "Integration of Digital Intelligence and Localization
Pathways to High-Quality Development of Chinese Language Education in Bangladesh."
DU Pro-Vice Chancellor (Administration) Professor Dr. Sayema Haque Bidisha inaugurated the event as the chief guest.
The forum was jointly organized by the Confucius Institute at Dhaka University, North South University, and Shanto-Mariam-Honghe Confucius
Classroom, with support from the Chinese Embassy in Dhaka.
During the opening session, the formation of the Bangladesh Chinese Language Teachers Association was announced, marking a new step toward institutional
cooperation in Chinese language education.
The daylong event concluded with academic discussions and a certificate distribution ceremony.
Expressing hopes to strengthening the academic bonds, Professor Sayema said, "Bangladesh and China share a long history of friendship. Strengthening
academic and technological collaboration through language education will further deepen that bond."
"In today's globalized world, learning new languages like Chinese is essential for academic and professional growth. The Confucius Institutes have opened doors for cultural exchange and cooperation," she added.
Speaking at the event, Dr. Yang Hui, Director of the Confucius Institute at Dhaka University, said Chinese language education in Bangladesh is advancing rapidly with growing interest among students.
"The integration of digital tools and local adaptation will ensure sustainable development in this field," he added.
