DHAKA, Oct 16, 2025 (BSS) - Cultural Affairs Adviser Mostofa Sarwar Farooki today said the country will begin its journey toward a festive election through the signing of the historic July National Charter 2025 tomorrow.

He made the remarks at a press briefing on preparations for the July National Charter signing ceremony at the South Plaza of the Jatiya Sangsad Bhaban.

Farooki said two tasks will proceed simultaneously: one is to demonstrate how the July Charter will change the nation's fate after its signing and to prepare communication materials, and the other is to ensure the journey toward a festive election.

"The political parties have debated for a long time and have now agreed on a final charter," he said, adding that it is a rare case in Bangladesh and will occupy a special place in the country's history.

"If we can implement the proposals agreed upon by the political parties, it will bring a significant change in the political culture of Bangladesh," he pointed out.

Referring to the charter, Farooki said, "The July Charter itself is an arrangement for our future. We will stand at the South Plaza of the Jatiya Sangsad with our future tomorrow. All representatives of the political parties will be there to sign the Charter."

Monir Haider, Special Assistant to the Chief Adviser, moderated the meeting.

Chaired by National Consensus Commission Vice President Prof Dr Ali Riaz, the meeting was also attended by commission members Justice Md. Emdadul Haque, Safar Raj Hossain, Dr. Iftekharuzzaman, Dr. Badiul Alam Majumdar, and Dr. Md. Aiyub Mia, among others.
