BAUST keen to collaborate with KU on academic, research development

KHULNA, Oct 20, 2025 (BSS) - Bangladesh Army University of Science and Technology (BAUST), Khulna has expressed interest in collaborating with Khulna University (KU) to strengthen academic curricula, improve laboratory facilities, and foster joint research. 

BAUST Vice-Chancellor (VC) Brig Gen Nizam Uddin Ahmed met KU Vice-Chancellor Professor Dr Md Rezaul Karim at his office on Sunday to discuss possible areas of cooperation. 

During the meeting, Brig Gen Ahmed sought KU's guidance and support in curriculum development, laboratory upgrades, and organizing joint conferences. 

He also proposed signing a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to formalize the partnership. 

Lauding the initiative, Professor Karim said KU has already adopted Outcome-Based Education (OBE) curricula following the guidelines of the Bangladesh Accreditation Council and the National Qualification Framework to ensure quality and relevance in higher education. 

He assured that KU would extend full cooperation to BAUST and expressed optimism that the emerging university would contribute meaningfully to national development through knowledge and innovation. 

Brig Gen Ahmed thanked the KU vice-chancellor for his cordial response and expressed gratitude for the university's commitment to academic collaboration.
