80 inspectors promoted to ASPs in police

DHAKA, Oct 21, 2025 (BSS) – The government has promoted 80 police inspectors to the post of assistant superintendents of police (ASPs). 

The promotions were given in three separate notifications signed by Deputy Secretary of the Home Affairs Ministry Md Mahbubur Rahman, according to a handout issued today. 

According to the notifications, 33 police inspectors (unarmed), 18 police inspectors (city and vehicles) and 29 police inspectors (armed) have been promoted to the rank of ASPs.

The notifications also said that the promoted police officers’ jobs have been assigned to the Police Headquarters.
The promoted officers have been asked to submit their joining letters to the Senior Secretary of the Ministry of Home Affairs through appropriate authorities, notifications said.

The order issued for public interest will come into effect immediately.
