National Livestock Week to begin on Nov 26

DHAKA, Nov 18, 2025 (BSS) - The week-long “National Livestock Week- 2025” will be observed from November 26 to December 2. 

Various programmes have been taken centrally and at the district and upazila levels to increase the overall production of livestock, use of modern information technology, protect and develop domestic livestock and make farmers aware of disease prevention and health management, said a handout here today.

As part of the programme, the Ministry of Fisheries and Livestock will organize the official inauguration of the National Livestock Week and distribution of the National Livestock Medal 2025 at the Bangladesh-China Friendship Conference Center at 10am on November 26. . 

On the same day, a livestock exhibition and food festival will be organized at the Old Trade Fair premises in the capital at 12 noon. On the second day of the week (November 27), a rally and a seminar on problems, possibilities and things to do related to the livestock sector will be organized.

A seminar on research and technology will be organized by the Department of Livestock on November 28, and a discussion on the possibilities and things to do to diversify livestock products and increase exports on November 29. 

In addition, a mobile campaign related to livestock will be held on November 30, a meeting with young and women entrepreneurs on December 1, and the conclusion of the Livestock Week will be held at the Krishibid Institution in the capital on December 2. 

In addition, on the occasion of the National Livestock Week, views exchange meetings, rallies, livestock exhibitions, free vaccination camps for cattle and poultry, as well as free veterinary medical camps will be organized at the district and upazila levels.
