DHAKA, Nov 18, 2025 (BSS) - The toll-free helpline number of the National Legal Aid Services Organization (NLASO) has been changed to '16699', official sources said today.

According to a notification published on the organization's website and signed by Assistant Director Toufiqul Islam, NLASO had been providing free legal advice through its previous helpline number '16430' to ensure legal assistance for people across the country.

To make the organization's activities more dynamic and people-oriented, the previous number has been replaced with the new, easy-to-remember toll-free helpline '16699'.

Through this helpline, people will be able to easily obtain information about Legal Aid offices, legal advice, and other necessary assistance. Officials said the change will help increase access to legal services and enhance public awareness regarding legal aid activities.

The notice further informed all domestic and international governmental and non-governmental organizations that the old helpline number has been officially replaced by the new toll-free number '16699'.
