3 die of dengue, 593 hospitalised in 24 hours

DHAKA, Nov 22, 2025 (BSS) - Three more deaths were reported from dengue fever in 24 hours till this morning, raising the number of fatalities from the mosquito-borne disease in Bangladesh to 356 this year. 

During the same period, 593 new patients were admitted to different hospitals, raising the total number of dengue cases this year to 89,486, according to the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS).
 
Of them, 90 were admitted to various hospitals in Barishal division (outside City Corporation), 97 in Chattogram division (outside City Corporation), 88 in Dhaka division (outside City Corporation), 211 were admitted under Dhaka North City Corporation, 78 under Dhaka South City Corporation and 29 in Khulna division (outside City Corporation).

During the same period, 628 dengue patients were discharged from different hospitals across the country. With this, a total of 86,331 patients have, so far, been recovered and released this year.

Between January and November 20, 2025, a total of 89,486 people have been diagnosed with dengue. Of them, 62.3 percent are male and 37.7 percent female.

Including the latest three fatalities, the dengue death toll this year has risen to 356.

In comparison, Bangladesh recorded 101,214 dengue cases and 575 deaths in 2024.
