DHAKA, Dec 1, 2025 (BSS) - The Maitree Super Thermal Power Plant (MSTPP) has achieved a remarkable national milestone by generating 700 million units (MUs) of electricity in November 2025.

“It was the highest monthly generation by any power plant in Bangladesh. This historic performance stands as a testament to MSTPP’s exceptional operational excellence and reliability,” according to a statement issued by the BIFPCL here today.

It said that throughout the month, the MSTPP consistently supported the national grid by contributing nearly 11.5 percent of Bangladesh’s total electricity demand, thereby reinforcing its position as the country’s foremost power generator.

The milestone also reflected the plant’s superb industrial capability, efficient coal and asset management, and meticulous financial and operational planning.

It said the MSTPP has been delivering over 600 MUs or about 8 percent of Bangladesh’s total electricity demand regularly.

With its unwavering performance and reliability, the MSTPP continued to be a cornerstone of Bangladesh’s energy security — powering industries, homes, and economic growth across the nation, the statement said.
