DMP imposes ban on public gatherings around Secretariat, Jamuna

DHAKA, Dec 4, 2025 (BSS) - The Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) has issued a public notification announcing a temporary ban on all forms of assemblies and public gatherings in and around Bangladesh Secretariat and the official residence of the Chief Adviser, Jamuna.

The ban will take effect from Saturday, December 6, 2025, and remain in force until further notice.

The order, signed by DMP Commissioner SM Sazzat Ali has been implemented to ensure public order and the security of the Chief Adviser.

According to the order issued under section 29 of the Dhaka Metropolitan Police Ordinance (Ordinance No III/76) activities such as meetings, rallies, human chains, sit-ins, and processions are strictly prohibited within the restricted zones. 

The restricted area surrounding the Chief Adviser's residence includes the perimeter between Hotel InterContinental Crossing, Kakrail Mosque Crossing, Officers Club Crossing, and Mintu Road Crossing.

Authorities have urged the public to comply with the directive in the interest of safety and stability.
