NARSINGDI, Dec 4, 2025 (BSS) -BNP Joint Secretary General Khairul Kabir Khokon today said that BNP Chairperson and former Prime Minister Begum Khaleda Zia is a priceless asset, not just for the party but for the nation as a whole.

Speaking at a prayer and exchange meeting organized by the district Ulama Dal at the Narsingdi Shishu Academy auditorium, Khokon said Kahleda Zia has made immense sacrifices for the country, facing numerous cases and enduring imprisonment.

He said Begum Zia could have chosen to compromise with former President Hussain Muhammad Ershad or ousted Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina and lived a comfortable life abroad, "but she did not. She gave up a life of comfort for the love of the people."

Khokon called on everyone to pray for Begum Khaleda Zia's speedy recovery and return to good health.

The programme brought together over 400 imams, Islamic scholars, and religious leaders from various mosques in Narsingdi-1 (Sadar) constituency to offer prayers for the former prime minister's well-being.

District Ulama Dal Convener Maulana Md. Robiul Alam presided over the event. District BNP Religious Affairs Secretary Maulana Md. Noman Ahmed, Senior Joint Convener Kazi Maulana Md. Altaf Hossain, Member Secretary Md. Nuruzzaman Molla and Founder Chairman of the Narsingdi Fatwa Board Mufti Mostafa Al Farooqi were also present.
