DMP files 1,870 cases for violating traffic rules

DHAKA, Dec 10, 2025 (BSS) - Dhaka Metropolitan Police's (DMP) Traffic Division has filed a total of 1,870 cases across the capital for violating traffic rules.

The DMP Traffic Division filed those cases on December 9 through regular drive against traffic rules breakers, according to a press release issued today. 

It said the DMP traffic police dumped 414 motor vehicles and towed 172 vehicles during the campaign on December 9.

The DMP’s release further said these drives against traffic rule breakers will continue to ensure discipline on Dhaka's streets.
 
During the drive, Motijheel traffic division filed 309 cases, Wari division registered 262 cases, Tejgaon division filed 221 cases, Mirpur division filed 255 cases, Gulshan division filed 322 cases, Uttara division registered 265 cases, Ramna division filed 91 cases and Lalbagh division registered 145 cases against motor vehicles as well as three wheelers and motorcycles.
