DHAKA, Dec 16, 2025 (BSS) - Bangladesh Embassy in Tokyo today celebrated the 
Great Victory Day 2025 with due solemnity, commemorating the spirit of the 
Liberation War through a series of programmes involving expatriates and its 
officials.

The day's observance began in the morning at the embassy premises with the 
hoisting of the National Flag and playing of the National Anthem, according 
to a message received here. 

Bangladesh Ambassador to Japan Md. Daud Ali hoisted the flag in the presence 
of Bangladeshi expatriates and officials and staff of the embassy.

In the afternoon, the embassy hosted a reception attended by members of the 
Bangladeshi community living in Japan, where messages from the President, the 
Chief Adviser and the Adviser on Foreign Affairs were read out.

Addressing the gathering, Ambassador Md. Daud Ali paid deep tribute to the 
valiant martyrs of the Great Liberation War and expressed profound respect 
for the martyrs of the July 2024 mass uprising while wishing a speedy 
recovery to those injured.

He extended warm greetings to all Bangladeshis on the occasion of Victory Day 
and called upon people of all political affiliations to remain united and 
work collectively towards building a developed and prosperous Bangladesh.

The ambassador also urged expatriate voters to participate in the upcoming 
national election through postal ballots and briefed them on the voter 
registration process using the Postal Vote BD app.

The programme concluded with a special prayer seeking peace, progress and 
prosperity for the country and its nation.

Officials and staff of the Embassy of Bangladesh in Tokyo were present at the 
event.
