DHAKA, Dec 18, 2025 (BSS) - The Civil Aviation Authority of Bangladesh (CAAB) today imposed a temporary ban on all drone operations in and around airport areas, flight routes and take-off and landing zones to ensure aviation safety.

The restriction will remain in force from December 18, 2025 to February 15, 2026, covering airport-adjacent areas, aircraft movement routes, training zones, and designated take-off and landing sites, according to an official notice issued by the CAAB.

The CAAB said unauthorized drone operations pose a serious threat to the safety and security of aircraft and violate the Drone Registration and Operation Policy, 2020.

In cases of special necessity, drone operators must first obtain clearance from the concerned district administration and then apply to the CAAB for approval.

The authority will take a final decision after reviewing the application.

CAAB has urged the public to strictly refrain from flying drones without prior permission, warning that legal action will be taken against any unauthorized drone operations.
