DHAKA, Dec 17, 2025 (BSS) - The Election Commission (EC) today issued a set of instructions ahead of the 13th national parliamentary election slated for February 12, 2026, according to an official handout.

Under the directives, government employees staying outside their respective voter areas must register for postal voting through the 'Postal Vote BD' app by December 25.

Officials engaged in election duties are required to complete their registration through the same app between December 18 and December 25. Meanwhile, voters who are in law enforcement custody must register for postal voting between December 21 and December 24.

To receive postal ballots, voters must provide accurate and complete addresses while registering on the 'Postal Vote BD' app, following the standard rules applicable in the countries where they are staying. Voters are also required to mention their workplace address as well as the address of a familiar contact person.

The EC noted that postal ballot papers cannot be sent without the voters providing their current and full addresses.
