DHAKA, Dec 17, 2025 (BSS) - The parents of prime suspect Foysal Karim Masud 
in the case lodged over the attempted murder of Inqilab Moncho spokesperson 
Sharif Osman Hadi today gave confessional statements before a court.
 
Md Humayun Kabir, 70, and Hashi Begum, 60, gave their statements under 
Section 164 of the Code of Criminal Procedure (CrPC). Dhaka Metropolitan 
Magistrate Monirul Islam recorded their statements and sent them back to 
jail.
 
The Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) detained the couple from the Hasnabad area 
of South Keraniganj on December 16.
 
Sharif Osman Hadi, an independent parliamentary candidate for Dhaka-8 and 
spokesperson of Inqilab Moncho, was shot on December 12 in the capital's 
Bijoynagar Box Culvert area.
 
According to the case statement, two assailants riding a motorcycle opened 
fire on Hadi while he was travelling in a battery-run rickshaw and then fled 
the scene. Inqilab Moncho member secretary Abdullah Al Zaber filed the case 
with Paltan Model Police Station on December 14.
