DMP arrests 392 in 24 hrs under Operation Devil Hunt Phase-2

Dhaka, Dec 17, 2025 (BSS) - The Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) arrested 392 suspects across the capital in the last 24 hours as part of Operation Devil Hunt Phase-2.

The arrests were made between 12:01am and 11:59pm on Tuesday through coordinated operations conducted at various locations in Dhaka.

Among those detained were 15 leaders and activists of the Awami League and its affiliated organizations, whose activities remain banned. The remaining 377 individuals were arrested in connection with outstanding warrants and previous cases involving various criminal charges.

The operation is part of the DMP's ongoing efforts to maintain law and order in the capital.

In addition, police set up special check posts at 11 entry and exit points of the city from 4:00pm to 6:00am on Wednesday, to search suspicious vehicles and enhance public safety.

During the drive, police searched 769 vehicles and arrested five additional individuals.

Police officials said the campaign to ensure law and order in Dhaka will continue.
