Bagerhat SP visits churches ahead of Christmas

BAGERHAT, Dec 17, 2025 (BSS) - Ahead of the upcoming Christmas celebrations on December 25, newly appointed Superintendent of Police (SP) of the district Mohammad Hasan Chowdhury visited Christian communities and churches in the district today.

The SP visited the Christian homes of Michael Maria Palli and the Fatima Rani Maria Church under Bagerhat Sadar Police Station and municipality.

He was accompanied by Additional Superintendent of Police (Sadar Circle) Md Shamim Hossain, Officer-in-Charge of Bagerhat Sadar Police Station Md Masum Khan, Inspector (Operations) of Sadar Model Police Station Md Shahidul Islam, Father Dominic Halder of Fatima Rani Maria Church and members of the local Christian community.

Hasan Chowdhury assured the Christian community that the Bagerhat District Police would take maximum security measures to ensure that Christmas is celebrated in a peaceful and joyful atmosphere.

Seeking cooperation from all, the SP said the district police remain committed to maintaining law and order and ensuring peaceful coexistence and security for people of all religions.
