
JAHANGIRNAGAR UNIVERSITY, Dec 21, 2025 (BSS) - Jahangirnagar University (JU)
today began its admission tests for the first-year honours (2025-2026
academic session) with the 'C' Unit under the Faculty of Arts and Humanities,
Faculty of Law and the Institute of Comparative Literature and Culture.
A total of 20,401 male and 27,097 female candidates appeared in the admission
test against 233 seats for male and 233 seats for female students of the 'C'
Unit. The examination was conducted in six shifts at different centres on the
campus.
JU Vice-Chancellor Professor Dr Mohammad Kamrul Ahsan visited several
examination centres at the Old Arts Building and the new building of the
Faculty of Arts and Humanities in the morning.
During the visit, Pro-Vice-Chancellor (Academic) Professor Dr M Mahfuzur
Rahman, Pro-Vice-Chancellor (Administration) Professor Dr Sohel Ahmed,
Treasurer Professor Dr M Abdur Rab, Dean of the Faculty of Arts and
Humanities Professor Dr Md Mozammel Haque, Acting Dean of the Faculty of
Biological Sciences Professor Mafruhi Sattar, Proctor Professor Dr A K M
Rashidul Alam, among others, were present.
After visiting the examination halls, the Vice-Chancellor said the attendance
of candidates was nearly 100 percent in the centres he visited. To ensure
smooth transportation from Dhaka to the campus, additional buses were
arranged at two-hour intervals, he added.
He also said JUCSU, army, police, the discipline committee led by the proctor
and the university security office were jointly working to ensure that
admission seekers face no difficulties. As a result, candidates were able to
reach the examination centres on time and sit for the test smoothly, he
noted.
The Vice-Chancellor thanked all those concerned with the admission test and
expressed hope that the congenial examination environment would continue
throughout the admission process.
The admission test of 'B' Unit under the Faculty of Social Sciences will be
held tomorrow (December 22). Against 163 seats for male and 163 seats for
female students, 8,801 male and 11,784 female candidates have applied for the
'B' Unit.
