JUDO gets new executive body

JAHANGIRNAGAR UNIVERSITY, Jan 12, 2026 (BSS) - Jahangirnagar University Debate Organization (JUDO) has announced its new executive committee for the 2026 session.

A press release signed by JUDO Press and Media Secretary Afia Ibnat Samiha was issued in this regard this afternoon.

The new committee was formally announced during the concluding programme of the two-day anniversary festival held at Selim Al Deen Muktomancha on the campus.

Outgoing president Mirza Saki, a 49th batch student of the Department of Biotechnology and Genetic Engineering, announced the names of the newly elected office-bearers and handed over responsibilities.

According to the announcement, Md Al Luban, a 51st batch student of the Department of History, has been elected president, while Tajun Islam, a 51st batch student of the Department of Marketing, has been elected general secretary for the 2026 session.

Sadman Koushik of the Department of Pharmacy (50th batch) has been appointed vice-president (administration), while Sumaiya Islam Samia of the Department of Accounting and Information Systems (51st batch) has been made vice-president (debate).

Meanwhile, the new committee of the JUDO English Forum was also announced. Sumaiya Islam Samia has been appointed coordinator, Barna Saha Bishal member secretary and Golam Morshed Akib session coordinator of the forum.
