Jamaat Ameer set to visit Panchagarh for election campaign

PANCHAGARH, Jan 22, 2026 (BSS) - As part of the campaign for the upcoming 13th National Parliament election, Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami Ameer Dr Shafiqur Rahman is scheduled to visit Panchagarh Tomorrow.

He will attend a public rally as the chief guest at the Panchagarh Sugar Mill ground tomorrow, organised by the district unit of Jamaat-e-Islami, party sources said.

According to the sources, Dr Shafiqur Rahman will speak at the rally on the forthcoming national election, the country’s current political situation and Jamaat-e-Islami’s electoral commitments. 
He is also expected to give directives to party leaders and activists.

Ahead of the visit, Jamaat brought out a welcoming procession in Panchagarh town last night, which paraded through different streets of the town. Earlier in the day, the district Jamaat organised a press conference at its party office.

Meanwhile, district and upazila-level leaders and activists of Jamaat-e-Islami have taken extensive preparations centring the public rally, intensifying campaign activities to ensure its success.

District Jamaat Ameer Maulana Iqbal Hossain said the people of the country are expecting a free, fair and credible election. 

“Jamaat-e-Islami is conducting its election activities peacefully and in a disciplined manner to fulfil that expectation. From the Panchagarh rally, we will convey the message of people’s rights and the establishment of a justice-based state,” he added.
