DHAKA, March 04, 2026 (BSS) – Jatiya Sangsad Chief Whip Md Nurul Islam, MP (Barguna-2), along with the whips, today paid rich tributes at the graves of Shaheed President Ziaur Rahman and former Prime Minister Begum Khaleda Zia.

The Chief Whip was accompanied by Whip Md GK Gaus, MP (Habiganj-3); Rakibul Islam, MP (Khulna-3); Mia Nuruddin Ahmed Apu, MP (Shariatpur-3); M Ruhul Quddus Talukder Dulu, MP (Natore-2); Md Akhtaruzzaman Mia, MP (Dinajpur-4); and A B M Ashraf Uddin (Nijan), MP (Lakshmipur-4).

The Chief Whip and the whips placed wreaths at the graves as a mark of respect.

They also observed a minute of silence and offered special prayers seeking eternal peace for the departed souls.

After paying their respects, the leaders prayed for the welfare of the country and the nation, recalling the ideals of Shaheed President Ziaur Rahman and the contributions of Begum Khaleda Zia to the development of the country.

Senior officials of the Jatiya Sangsad Secretariat and political leaders were present on the occasion.
