DMP files 1,228 cases for violating traffic rules

DHAKA, Mar 04, 2026 (BSS) - Dhaka Metropolitan Police's (DMP) Traffic Division has filed a total of 1,228 cases across the capital for violating traffic rules.

According to a press release issued here today, the DMP Traffic Division filed those cases on March 3 during regular drive against traffic rules breakers.

It said the DMP traffic police dumped 474 motor vehicles and towed 271 vehicles during the campaign against traffic rules violation on March 3.

The DMP’s release further said these drives against traffic rule breakers will continue to ensure discipline on Dhaka's streets for ensuring city dwellers’ easy movement.

Ramna division filed 85 cases, Lalbagh division registered 87 cases, Motijheel traffic division filed 94 cases, Wari division registered 129 cases, Tejgaon division filed 102 cases, Mirpur division filed 165 cases, Uttara division registered 284 cases and Gulshan division filed 282 cases against motor vehicles as well as three wheelers and motorcycles.
