Nine players share lead after 3rd round

DHAKA, March 4, 2026 (BSS) - Nine players shared lead in the points table with maximum three points after the third round of Manha's Castle 28th Int'l' Chess Tournament held at Bangladesh Chess Federation hall room today (Wednesday).

The players sharing the top position are FIDE Master (FM) Sakline Mostafa Sajid, FM Subrota Biswas, FM Syed Mahfuzur Rahman, Ananta Choudhury, FM Md. Sharif Hossain, Candidate Master (CM) Md. Jamal Uddin, CM Avik Sarker, Muhtady Tajwar Nasheed, Awsaf Chowdhury. 

Eight players shared the second position with 2.5 points. They are CM Sohel Chowdhury, CM Md Masum Hossain, Afnan Zarif Haque, Afzal Hossain Sacchu, Woman FIDE Master (WFM) Warsia Khusbu, Radmin Raha Rajya, Md. Anisujjaman Mullick and Md. Biddut Sarker.

In the day's third round matches, FM Sakline Mostafa Sajid defeated Abdul Momin, FM Subrota Biswas defeated Jinnat Akter Shehnaz, FM Syed Mahfuzur Rahman defeated Siam Chowdhury, Ananta Choudhury defeated Rayan Rashid Mugdho, FM Md. Sharif Hossain defeated WCM Neelava Choudhury, CM Md. Masum Hossain drew with Afnan Zarif Haque, Muhtady Tajwar Nasheed defeated Mukitul Islam Ripon, CM Md. Jamal Uddin defeated Moniruzzaman Moni, CM Avik Sarker defeated Md. Gazi Miah, Awsaf Chowdhury defeated Mohammad Shafiqul Islam, CM Md. Abu Hanif drew with Md. Biddut Sarker, CM Sohel Chwodhury defeated AB Baapi, Afzal Hossain Sacchu defeated Pretam Barua, WFM Warsia Khusbu defeated Md Rabiul Hossain, Radmin Raha Rajya defeated Ashia Sultana, Md Anisujjaman Mullick defeated Md Tariqul Islam, CM Md Masum Hossain and CM Md Abu Hanif split point with Biddut Sarker.
