KCC Administrator for bolstering community bond thru trust

KHULNA, March 4, 2026 (BSS) - Khulna City Corporation (KCC) Administrator Md Nazrul Islam Manju today said people in the city are united regardless of their religious beliefs and the unity requires to be further strengthened through trust and confidence.

He, however, cautioned none should be allowed to disrupt the prevailing bond among all communities.

Manju made the remarks while addressing the Sri Sri Gaura Purnima Mahotsab-2026 as the chief guest, held at the premises of Sri Sri Radhamadhab Temple on South Central Road in the city this afternoon.

Extending greetings to the devotees attending the festival, the KCC administrator said city dwellers want a clean, mosquito-free and safe city, not religious or political divisions.

Manju said he is committed to completing the ongoing development works at the earliest possible time. 

He sought cooperation from all quarters to turn Khulna into a terrorism-free city.

Presided over by temple committee director Baishnab Balaram Das, the function was addressed, among others, by General Secretary of Khulna City Puja Udjapan Committee Prashanta Kumar Kundu as an honoured guest.

President of Keshab Chandra Sarbojanin Puja Mandir Committee Sanjib Kumar Banik and its General Secretary Dipu spoke as special guests. Advocate Ananda Kumar Ghosh, General Secretary of Radhamadhab Temple Committee, conducted the programme.

Earlier in the morning, Manju inspected several ongoing development works in the city, including Sonadanga Outer Bypass Road, Gallamari Bridge construction, Shipyard Road development and the Labanchara sluice gate area.

During the visit, he urged the authorities concerned of Khulna Development Authority (KDA), Local Government Engineering Department (LGED) and Roads and Highways Department (RHD) to complete the long-pending projects expeditiously.

Additional Divisional Commissioner (Development) Muhammad Asadul Haque, Director of Local Government, Khulna Division Abu Sayeed Md Monjur Alam, KCC Chief Executive Officer Rajib Ahmed and other senior officials were present during the inspection.
