3 establishments fined in summary trial in Rajshahi

RAJSHAHI, March 4, 2026 (BSS)- Under the directive of the Chief Metropolitan Magistrate of Rajshahi, drives were conducted at various shops in the city. 

During the summary trial, three establishments were fined a total of Taka 40,000.
 
The drive was carried out today at RDA Market and Saheb Bazar by Metropolitan Magistrate Md. Ataullah. Court Nazir Sohel Rana confirmed the matter.
 
He said that for violating the Consumer Rights Protection Act, MouChak Mishtanna Bhandar at Saheb Bazar was fined Taka 10,000, Noborup Mishtanna Bhandar was fined Taka 25,000, and a sari shop at RDA Market was fined Taka 5,000.
 
He also stated that such drives will continue regularly to ensure consumer rights, environmental protection, food safety, and to bring various offenses under the law in order to make Rajshahi Metropolitan City safer.
